Water based varnishes

The range of water-based varnishes was developed to meet the ever-more urgent requirements to reduce emissions into the atmosphere and safety in the workplace; without forgetting the growing need to improve mechanical bonding and insulation of the latest generation motors and transformers.
Water-based varnishes are ideal for:

  • immersion impregnation at atmospheric pressure
  • roll dip/roll through impregnation

AQUA-THERM BC-365 is a water-soluble modified polyester varnish with excellent tank stability.
It has been formulated to meet the requirement to reduce VOS emissions into the atmosphere within the limits set by current regulations. It has the following special characteristics:

  • UL-approved OBOR2.E317427 and OBJS2.E317429)
  • Excellent moisture resistance
  • Excellent adhesion and flexibility
  • Excellent stability
  • Relatively short curing cycle
  • High flash point ( >95°C)

AQUA-THERM BC-367 is an insulating varnish formulated to completely overcome the problem of VOS emissions into the atmosphere and to meet the needs of stator and transformer manufacturers that because the types of materials used (PVC, nylon, wires, tubes, faston caps etc.) cannot exceed 110-120°C during baking.
Its main properties are as follows:

  • UL-approved (File OBOR2.E317427 and OBJS2.E317429)
  • Excellent moisture resistance
  • Excellent adhesion and flexibility
  • Good tank stability (temperatures above 5°C)
  • Relatively short curing cycle
  • Relatively low curing temperatures (110 to 130°C)
  • High Flash Point (>95°C)
  • Suitable for use in motors that operate in humid environments.

AQUA-THERM BC-380 is a water-based insulating varnish with a chemical bonding strength, resistance to chemicals and electrical resistances that are comparable to polyester resins.
Its main properties are as follows:

  • UL-approved (File OBOR2.E317427 and OBJS2.E317429)
  • Excellent bonding strength
  • Excellent abrasion resistance
  • Excellent resistance to moisture and chemical agents
  • High Flash Point (>100°C)
  • Freon R33 resistant
