Maestro Srl’s sensors and bimetal thermal switches are a reliable and efficient solution for the thermal protection of electric motors, transformers, HVAC systems, household appliances and industrial applications. Designed and produced entirely in Italy, Maestro devices ensure high quality standards, production continuity and compliance with European regulations.
Thanks to over 40 years of experience in the field of bimetal thermal switches, Maestro manufactures high-performance components capable of interrupting the flow of current when critical temperatures are reached, preventing overheating and damage to electrical systems. Each thermal switch undergoes automatic checks and functional tests on 100% of products made, ensuring maximum reliability over time.
The strengths of Maestro production:
- 100 % Made in Italy: direct contact with the production department, fast and efficient service
- 100 % European components: controlled and certifiable supply chain
- 100 % automation: production stability and consistent quality
- 100 % tested: quality control on 100% of products made
The Maestro range includes compact and high-performance solutions for different application needs, with certifiable European components and a fully automated production process. The company also has a specialised in-house laboratory for electric motor testing, blocked rotor testing and validation of applications under IEC and UL regulations.
Choosing Maestro means putting your trust in a technical partner that ably supports companies and designers in the development of safe, high-performance and certifiable thermal protection systems.
The laboratory
Maestro has an in-house laboratory specializing in electric motor testing, locked-rotor testing, and application validation in accordance with IEC and UL standards. We test the protectors directly on electric motors under real-world and critical conditions with the goal of offering our customers a comprehensive solution that facilitates the development and certification of their applications.
Operating principle of Maestro thermal switches
The operating principle of our thermal switches is based on the action of a bimetal strip that opens the electrical circuit of the switch when a critical temperature—known as the opening temperature—is reached. When the equipment in which the switch is installed cools down, the thermal switch can automatically close again. Once the system temperature drops below a lower threshold—called the closing temperature—the bimetal strip returns to its original configuration and the circuit closes again.
Unlike sensors that only carry signal currents, our bimetal switches are active components of the electrical circuit, connected in series with the protected appliances. They are also designed to interrupt and restore the electrical load for the minimum number of cycles required by the specific application.
Maestro thermal switches are designed for “in-winding” applications, typically for single-phase asynchronous electric motors. However, they can also be used in any application requiring temperature control.
